Directions and Transportation

In person courses are conducted at McCrone Research Institute, located at 2820 South Michigan Avenue (28th and Michigan Ave) in Chicago (see map below). McCrone is a one-story, black brick building set back from Michigan Avenue with a driveway and parking lot that can be accessed only from the southbound lane of Michigan Avenue. Parking is free; parking elsewhere, especially in downtown Chicago, can be very expensive.
If You Are Driving
  • From expressways I-90/94, you can exit at 31st Street and go east towards Michigan Avenue.
  • From Lake Shore Drive, you can exit at 31st Street and go west toward Michigan Avenue.
From either of these two directions, proceed north on Michigan Ave three blocks to 28th Street. You can legally U-turn to head south in front of Napleton Auto Group, a half block north of 28th Street.
If You Are Arriving at O’Hare or Midway Airport
O’Hare Airport (ORD) and Midway Airport (MDW) connect Chicago with most cities.
Public Transportation
Buses stop in front of our parking lot driveway on Michigan Avenue. Buses and trains are operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The CTA Blue Line train services O’Hare, and the CTA Orange Line train services Midway. For bus service to the classroom, take the CTA No. 1 Indiana/Hyde Park or the CTA No. 4 Cottage Grove, NOT the No. 4 Express. To plan a CTA trip, visit www.transitchicago.com.
Ride Hailing Transportation Services
Uber and Lyft are available in Chicago.
