It is not very often that microscopy, let alone light microscopy, makes front-page news — but it did recently. I would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to the 2014 Nobel Prize laureates in chemistry: Eric Betzig, Stefan Hell and William Moerner for the “development of super-resolved fluorescence microscopy.”
