No matter what the field of research, the optical microscope is always a useful addition and often an essential tool in the laboratory. A successful journal for microscopists must interest and benefit scientists with a wide range and area of expertise. The Microscope accomplishes this by emphasizing new advances in microscope design, new accessories, new techniques, and unique applications to the study of particles, films, or surfaces of any substance. Its readership includes microscopists from a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, law enforcement, forensic science, environmental services, materials-analysis consulting firms, academia, conservation, and government labs. For more than 75 years, The Microscope has been the foremost journal of microscopy for researchers in forensic science, materials analysis, pharmaceuticals, law enforcement, environmental services, academia, conservation, and government labs. The Microscope is published quarterly (four print issues per year).
